10.3.2 Background                :        CARDS is already implementing a programme of Urban Health Centre for the Health Care needs of Slum dwellers in Guntur City. CARDs noticed that safe drinking water is a scarce commodity for them and has therefore undertaken this programme.

10.3.3 Activities                    :        -        CARDs proposes to supply sufficient good drinking water to this population.

-               To implement the programme, a Truck has been procured as a donation form “World Help for Self Help”.

-               The sources of water are also identified.

-               Necessary logistics for the implementation of the programme are worked out.

-               Efforts are underway  to obtain support from other agencies to execute the proposal.

-               CARDs will make efforts to extend this programme to other urban areas also in due course.
